4th May 2026 – (Hong Kong) Renowned Portuguese custard tart specialist Manteigaria is set to make its Hong Kong debut in Central, marking its arrival with a one‑day promotion offering 300 complimentary pastéis de nata to customers.
The Lisbon‑born brand will begin a soft opening on 26th May, ahead of its official launch on 2nd June. To celebrate the grand opening, the shop will distribute 300 free tarts in store on the day, giving local food lovers a chance to sample its signature bake.
The new outlet will be located at Shop B, G/F, Man Hing Commercial Building, 79–83 Queen’s Road Central. It will operate daily from 8am to 8pm.
Manteigaria is widely regarded as one of Portugal’s leading producers of the iconic custard tart. The company operates 21 branches worldwide, including multiple outlets in Lisbon and Porto, as well as locations in Paris, Spain and Macau. Its flagship store in Lisbon’s Chiado district regularly draws long queues of both residents and tourists.
The bakery is celebrated for its freshly baked tarts, distinguished by delicate, flaky pastry and a rich yet balanced custard filling. In keeping with Portuguese tradition, customers are encouraged to sprinkle cinnamon over the tart before eating to enhance its flavour.
