2nd October 2026 – (Hong Kong) Internet Personality Joseph Lam held a press conference on Friday to defend LadiM, the sanitary‑product brand endorsed by his partner, Hiromi Wada, after Consumer Council testing found the day‑use graphene sanitary napkin’s absorption speed at 73 seconds, slower than the Mainland’s recommended national benchmark of 60 seconds. He used the event to address his ongoing legal case linked to the cryptocurrency platform Jpex, where he faces a charge of conspiracy to defraud, and later spoke about his state of mind and daily life amid the proceedings.

Lam said he had much he wished he could share but would respect due process, noting that legal procedures in Hong Kong take time and must be followed. He added that he remains confident the facts will eventually become clear, repeating a view he has expressed in past remarks about the case. Asked whether he feared the possibility of imprisonment, he replied that he is not someone who frightens easily and would face the situation with composure and respect for the system, accepting that the timeline is not his to dictate.

He said the past year had not brought overwhelming pressure and, on the contrary, had yielded a modest gain: the launch of a “life philosophy” course designed to help others handle adversity, drawing on theories he studied at university more than a decade ago. Reflecting on how the case had influenced his outlook, Lam attributed his calmer approach mainly to age, saying that at 36, and turning 37 by year‑end, he feels more mature than in earlier years as he approaches 40.

When asked whether he planned to rein in his public commentary or become more restrained, Lam said he had already adjusted somewhat over the past two years. With greater social influence, he argued, comes a responsibility to contribute positively rather than behave as in youth, and he now aims to focus on helping people live better.

Lam confirmed he is currently barred from leaving Hong Kong while the case proceeds and said he respects the restriction. He added that he has never been fond of travel, recalling that during eight years in the United Kingdom he did not visit France or Italy. He cited vestibular issues, a fear of long journeys and some claustrophobia, saying he avoids trips unless strictly necessary and has not even renewed his expired passport.
