3rd October 2026 – (Hong Kong) Public relations personality Francis Cheng has reignited debate in entertainment circles after alleging on Instagram that a couple he described as “low class” repeatedly overstepped boundaries during the Mid‑Autumn Festival. Cheng said the pair, who live in the same estate as a well‑known society couple referred to as “Mr and Mrs A”, first appeared uninvited at the couple’s home during a party and were initially allowed in out of courtesy. According to Cheng, the visitors soon complained openly about the air‑conditioning and other arrangements, prompting their hosts to end the visit and ask them to leave.
He claimed the pair later returned with a bottle of red wine said to be worth HK$1,000 and were told they could drink in the living room while the hosts prepared to retire for the night. The situation escalated, Cheng alleged, when the man opened the door and ushered unfamiliar neighbours into the residence to look around despite valuable ornaments, watches and jewellery on display, triggering an angry confrontation in which Mrs A demanded they leave immediately. Cheng further claimed the couple came back yet again to retrieve the unfinished wine, with Mr A reportedly handing over the half‑full bottle from the bin. The visitors then allegedly asked to take the remainder from a decanter and even requested to use the kitchen sink to pour it back into the bottle.
Cheng condemned the behaviour as unacceptable and said Mrs A had shared details of the incident within their social circle, adding his view that the pair’s hopes of climbing into elite social circles were now unrealistic.
