26th May 2023 – (Beijing) Chinese State Councillor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang has invited Zimbabwe’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Frederick Shava, to visit China from 27th May to 2nd June. The announcement was made by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning on Friday.
The visit is expected to strengthen the already robust partnership between China and Zimbabwe, which has been in place for several decades. Zimbabwe is an important economic and political partner of China in Africa, with the two countries enjoying close ties in various areas, including trade, investment, and infrastructure development.
During his visit, Minister Shava is expected to hold talks with Chinese officials on a range of issues of mutual interest, including the Belt and Road Initiative, infrastructure development, and regional and international cooperation. The visit is also an opportunity for Zimbabwe to explore new areas of cooperation with China and to further strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries.
