Yacht moored off Ap Lei Chau Praya Road catches fire


18th October 2021 – (Hong Kong) At 10.09am today, a yacht moored off Ap Lei Chau Praya Road facing the Aberdeen South typhoon shelter suddenly caught fire. The fire also spread to another boat next to it. The boats and yachts moored nearby were moved to avoid being affected.

After receiving the report, the police dispatched marine police officers to inspect the scene. The firefighters immediately sent a squad of breathing apparatus to fight the blaze and put out the fire afterwards. It is understood that the yacht involved was undergoing refurbishment, and there was no one on board at the time of the incident, and authorities are investigating whether the fire was caused by the renovation works.
