Xia Baolong visits Wong Tai Sin for dim sum at Hakka Cuisine amid police security measures

25th February 2024 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office Director Xia Baolong continued his visit to Hong Kong today, marking the fourth day of his itinerary. Following yesterday morning’s dim sum feast at Hang Hau’s renowned tea house, Xia Baolong made his way to Wong Tai Sin to indulge in the authentic Hakka cuisine offered at the Hakka Cuisine restaurant located at Shop 16, 1/F, Lions Rise Mall, 8 Muk Lun Street.

This morning, dozens of police officers were already positioned near the restaurant, maintaining order and ensuring security. The restaurant designated for Xia Baolong’s visit was divided into two sections: one area restricted for the exclusive use of officials and the other section open for regular customers to enjoy their meals undisturbed.

Xia Baolong’s current visit to Hong Kong began on Thursday, lasting for a total of seven days. Today, on the fourth day of his research trip, he chose to experience the culinary delights of the Hakka Cuisine restaurant in Wong Tai Sin. Accompanying him for the meal was Alice Mak, the Secretary for Home Affairs and Youth Affairs. Both officials arrived at the restaurant promptly at 8am to commence their dining experience. After spending approximately an hour inside the establishment, Xia Baolong concluded his visit and departed.
