Authorities have yet to remove wrecked boats in various sea areas after Typhoon Mangkhut ruined many parts of Hong Kong 4 months ago. The mega yacht which has been abandoned at the Sai Kung waterfront is now a graffiti hotspot for vandals. The upper deck and hull of the yacht can be seen full of graffiti and rubbish.
The dilapidated yacht is still not being disposed of despite the issuance of notice by local Land Department to do so. Many vessels which were washed ashore during the Typhoon are still visible at Sha Tau Kok and Yau Tong areas. These shipwrecks pose a danger to vehicles traveling on the roads in both areas as they are not secured nor berthed properly.
It is imperative that the Marine Department should expedite the execution of the disposal process to prevent any mishaps in the near future.
