Workers protest at construction site on Nathan Road over unpaid wages

2nd December 2022 – (Hong Kong) At around 10am today, many workers at a construction site at No. 200-202 Nathan Road, Yau Ma Tei protested against unpaid wages. A banner was held by several of them. During which many workers also climbed onto the top of a crane. Police officers arrived at the scene to assist in mediating the incident, while firefighters arrived at the scene to deploy air cushion on the ground. It is reported that the workers have been owed wages since about a month ago, with a total amount of a few hundred thousands of Hong Kong dollars. The Transport Department announced that the entire section of Nathan Road between Jordan Road and Austin Road in the direction of Tsim Sha Tsui was closed due to the incident.
