Worker collapses and dies at construction site in Ho Man Tin

22nd May 2024 – (Hong Kong) At 4pm today, a sudden and tragic event unfolded at a construction site located on Chung Hau Street in Ho Man Tin, where a male worker in his fifties collapsed unexpectedly. Colleagues who witnessed the incident were shocked and immediately called for emergency services.

Upon arrival, rescue teams found the worker unresponsive and quickly transported him to Kwong Wah Hospital. Despite the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) during transit, efforts to revive him were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital. The police have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to reports, Mr. Lee, the deceased, started his workday at around 9am. He had complained of feeling unwell by 2pm and took a rest. Though he reported feeling better around 4pm, he suddenly collapsed as he was preparing to leave for the day. The exact cause of the collapse and subsequent death is currently under investigation, leaving the community and his colleagues in mourning over the unexpected loss.
