8th November 2025 – (Hong Kong) An unusual discovery aboard a Tuen Ma Line train has attracted considerable online attention after a passenger photographed a solitary item of clothing left behind on a carriage seat. The image, which shows a light-coloured undergarment resembling women’s underwear abandoned on a bench, was widely shared across social media platforms with the original poster questioning which commuter might have forgotten their personal belonging.

The photograph prompted numerous humorous responses from online commentators, with some suggesting the finder should take the item to the MTR customer service centre. Other reactions included speculation about whether the garment was accidentally left behind or represented part of an online marketplace transaction being conducted via the metro system.

The incident has incidentally highlighted the official MTR policy regarding lost property. According to the Hong Kong Railway By-law, items classified as perishable, hazardous, or objectionable may be disposed of promptly after coming into the company’s possession. The railway operator typically retains unclaimed items for a period of one month before they become corporate property, after which they may be sold or otherwise disposed of at the company’s discretion.
