31st January 2023 – (Hong Kong) A few very fashionable, liberated younger women in Japan can be seen not wearing bras to walk on the streets and the trend has been replicated in Hong Kong recently.
Two Hong Kong girls uploaded videos of themselves taking MTR trains on social media this month. One of them was not wearing bra while the other girl was wearing only sexy bra and underwear covered by her overcoat. Some of them were involved in selling their videos for profit. A woman in one of the videos revealed her body by opening her overcoat at Chai Wan MTR Station. The woman’s social media account shows that she is a yoga enthusiast. The videos were linked to multiple payment accounts to lure potential customers to pay around HK$85 monthly for more close-up photos and videos of her breasts, private parts, etc.
The Hong Kong woman even stated that she can take close-up photos and videos to satisfy specific fetishes, and the asking price for browsing her past pornographic photos and videos is around 20,000 Hong Kong dollars per month.
A person who, without lawful authority or excuse, in any public place or in view of the public, indecently exposes any part of his or her body is guilty of an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine of $1,000 and imprisonment for six months ( section 148 of the Crimes Ordinance ( Cap. 200 )).
As for the release of videos, it may violate Section 21 of the “Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance” to publish obscene articles. If convicted, the perpetrator can be punished with a fine of 1 million and imprisonment for 3 years. However, it is not illegal for women who go braless in public places. As long as they wear clothes to cover their breasts, it is not a crime.
