29th May 2023 – (Hong Kong) A photo has been circulating online yesterday, showing four women being investigated at Kowloon Bay Station of the MTR Corporation Limited (MTRCL) after purchasing discounted tickets. The MTRCL has confirmed that the incident took place on Friday, May 26th, at around 4.30pm. The station’s customer service centre received a request from five women who suspected they had been scammed at a nearby shopping mall and asked for assistance in reporting the incident. The station staff provided assistance, and law enforcement officers followed up with the case directly with the victims. The incident was unrelated to ticketing matters.
