Woman found deceased in Fanling residence and man falls from height in Lam Tin within the span of 30 minutes

3rd December 2023 – (Hong Kong) A female resident surnamed Cheung (45 years old) was discovered unconscious at her residence located at 51 Wo Tai Street in Fanling at 1.45am today. A concerned friend immediately reported the incident, prompting personnel to rush to the scene. Upon arrival, they found Ms. Cheung lying unconscious in the living room, alongside a burnt charcoal pot. Regrettably, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities discovered a farewell note at the premises, although the exact cause of death is pending confirmation following a post-mortem examination. It has been revealed that the victim had recently been dealing with emotional distress, and the possibility of a suicide cannot be ruled out.

In a separate incident, a 20-year-old man surnamed Chan fell from a height in an apartment at Sceneway Garden in Lam Tin at 2.07am today (3rd). He was found unconscious on a platform and immediately received medical attention from rescue personnel. Despite their efforts, he was later pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital. Authorities discovered a farewell note at the scene as well. It is understood that the young man had been grappling with academic difficulties, and the possibility of suicidal thoughts arising from this cannot be disregarded.
