5th September 2026 – (Hong Kong) A tragic incident occurred last night at Shun Ting Terraced Home, a transitional housing facility on 915 Cheung Sha Wan Road. At approximately 7.00pm on 4th September, police were alerted by a woman who suspected her 27-year-old sister, surnamed Wong, had attempted to take her own life at the premises. Emergency responders arrived to find Ms Wong lying unconscious in her room, with two trays of burning charcoal nearby. Firefighters extinguished the embers before paramedics rushed her to Caritas Medical Centre for emergency treatment.
Despite resuscitation efforts, Ms Wong was later confirmed dead. Police reported that no note was discovered at the scene, and the cause of death will be established following a post-mortem examination. According to initial information, financial difficulties may have been a contributing factor in the lead-up to the incident.
