Woman armed with scissors arrested on MTR train

4th May 2021 – (Hong Kong) At about 7pm today, a woman boarded a MTR train bound for Tsuen Wan on the Tsuen Wan Line at MTR Central Station. The passengers were shocked to see that she was holding a pair of scissors about 7 inches long. Many were worried that she might have a bad intention, so the train driver was notified to call the police. When the train reached the MTR Prince Edward Station, the police officers arrived at the scene and entered the carriage to understand the situation and persuaded her to put down the scissors.

However, the woman sat on her seat unmoved, so police stepped forward and arrested the woman (32 years old) for possession of an offensive weapon. The case was handed over to the Mong Kok Police District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up. It is understood that the woman did not resist when she was arrested. No one was injured in the incident.
