26th November 2022 – (Hong Kong) The police said today that they received a report at 7pm tonight (26th) that a man surnamed Wong (29 years old) was driving a motorcycle along Po Lam North Road towards Sau Mau Ping, and when he was knocked down by a wild boar near Tsui Lam Estate.

Paramedics bandaged him and sent him to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment. According to a Dash cam footage, the motorcycle was driving on the opposite lane when the wild boar that caused the accident rushed out from the side of the road and knocked the motorcyclist to the ground. The wild boar seemed not seriously injured and stood up immediately after the accident before fleeing.

The Hong Kong government has changed its wild boar control policy since November last year, regularly killing wild boars when they enter community hotspots, and will even expand the no-feeding areas for wild animals at the end of the year to prevent wild boars from appearing in urban areas and injuring people.
