24th May 2022 – (Hong Kong) The Hong Kong Police College has revealed that a 28-year-old student police officer is a wanted criminal. The student police officer enrolled at the Hong Kong Police College in Wong Chuk Hang for training. During the training, a senior officer found a student policeman as a wanted criminal. The cadet is wanted by the court for failing to pay a traffic fine. It is reported that the police have taken the student back to the Aberdeen Police Station after the incident. According to the source, the 28-year-old student police officer involved was successfully hired through the police recruitment process about a month ago, and entered the police academy for training yesterday.
Unexpectedly, when an instructor of the college checked the information of the student policeman according to the standard protocol, he found that he was wanted. The source also said that the warrant of arrest was related to a case of illegal parking (Pol 525), and he was charged with a fine but failed to pay the fine within the time limit, so the court issued a warrant of arrest.
It is understood that the student policeman had worked as a cross-border driver before joining the police force. The company he worked for used his personal data as the registered owner of the vehicle, but the address reported was the company address. Later, the vehicle was issued a fixed penalty notice for illegal parking. However, the company did not pay the fine after receiving it, and the victim never knew that there was a fine. Until about a month ago, he was hired by the police force. At that time, the court had not issued an arrest warrant, so he successfully passed the police review. He has been temporarily granted bail and he was ordered to appear in court on the 30th of this month.
