Violent protestors vandalise pharmacies and attack police officers, 5 police officers injured by Sulfuric acid bombs hurled by protestors


13th July 2019 – (Hong Kong) At around 7pm, several violent protestors in Sheung Shui continued to create more havoc by vandalising pharmacies located at the junction of San Hong Street and San Wan Road.

Meanwhile, a few protestors removed the signage of a pharmacy on Lung Sum Avenue and destroyed its CCTV camera at around 7.30pm. They even used some traffic barriers to block its roller shutter before spraying graffiti on it.

At 7.45pm, police expressed that the illegal assembly on San Hong Street was carefully planned and many aggressive protestors attacked police officers with steel rods and threw unknown powder at them. Police started to clear the protestors and warned civilians not to go near the area.

In the midst of violent stand off, 5 police officers were injured by Sulfuric acid bombs and they were admitted to hospital for emergency treatment.

During the clearance at around 8.30pm, some protestors jumped off the bridge near San Wan Road and many were arrested by riot police.
