4th October 2026 – (Hanoi) Vietnamese outlets have reported a spate of indecent incidents targeting women in recent weeks, involving a man wearing a helmet and naked from the waist down who forces his way into nail salons, beauty parlours and hairdressers, performs a lewd act in front of staff and customers, then runs off. Footage shared on social platforms appears to show one such intrusion at a nail shop on the 22nd of last month, where a man in a blue T‑shirt entered without a word, knelt in front of a female employee and a female customer, and fled moments later.
In the clip, the startled women are seen reacting in fear before raising the alarm after the intruder leaves. Reports say the barefoot customer inadvertently stepped in fluid left on the floor as she attempted to move away. Since the video circulated, several other salons and barbershops have publicly stated they experienced similar encounters believed to involve the same individual, prompting widespread online debate and calls for stronger safety measures in private service settings frequented by women.
Commentary accompanying the reports suggests the perpetrator appears to target premises staffed only by women, with the suspected aim of provoking panic for his own gratification. The incidents have heightened anxiety about security in small salons and spas, with social media users describing the scenes as deeply distressing and urging quicker police action and better protective measures for staff and patrons. Authorities have yet to announce an arrest, and investigations are understood to be ongoing as businesses review surveillance and consider additional precautions.
