Vaccinated travellers do not need to be quarantined when visiting Phuket, Krabi, Phang Nga, Chiang Mai and Pattaya from 1st Oct onwards

5th April 2021 – (Phuket) The Public Relations Department of the Thai Government (PRD, provisional translation) stated on Facebook on the 1st April that the first phase of the relaxation of its anti-epidemic measures would be implemented on the same day. International travellers who have been vaccinated and hold a vaccination certificate will only need to quarantine for 7days when they visit Phuket, Krabi, Phang-nga, Chiang Mai and Pattaya. During Phase 2 starting on 1st July, vaccinated travellers do not need to be quarantined when they visit Phuket. During the third phase started on 1st October, vaccinated travellers do not need to be quarantined when visiting Phuket, Krabi, Phang Nga, Chiang Mai and Pattaya.

PRD added that Phase 4 will start on 1st January, 2022. Any foreign traveller who has been vaccinated and holds a vaccine passport does not need to be quarantined when entering Thailand.

Thai government approved 7 COVID-19 vaccines, including the vaccine developed by Sinovac, a vaccine developed by the British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford, vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson, vaccine developed by Pfizer in the United States and BioNTech, a German biotech company and vaccine developed by Moderna in the United States.
