26th March 2023 – (Hong Kong) Recently, a mainland Chinese netizen posted on Xiaohongshu, a popular social media platform, about a peculiar encounter at a public toilet in Sham Shui Po. The netizen had initially visited a small shop in the area to purchase audio equipment but had to urgently use the restroom. Upon inquiring about the nearest public toilet, the shop assistant pointed towards a nearby location. Little did the netizen know that a bizarre encounter was waiting for them.
H2: A Strange and Unsettling Situation Unfolds
According to the netizen’s account, the public toilet i.e. Tai Nan Street Public Toilet and Bath House was located on the second floor near refuse collection point. Upon climbing the stairs, the netizen noticed several men smoking in the men’s restroom. Feeling uneasy, the netizen entered a cubicle, only to be greeted by a group of men staring back at him. The netizen was overwhelmed with fear and quickly ran into another cubicle. The incident left the netizen traumatised, and he was unable to shake off the feeling of dread even after leaving the toilet.
After the post went viral, netizens began discussing the incident, with some expressing amusement at the netizen’s misfortune. Many commented that the netizen had unwittingly stumbled into the notorious Sham Shui Po public toilet, which was known for being a gathering spot for homosexual men. Some even joked that the netizen was lucky to have escaped without being caught between a rock and a hard place. However, other netizens expressed concern for the netizen’s safety and advised others to avoid the area, especially at night.
