Unlicensed JPEX operation records 2,467 victims seeking assistance, involving over HK$1.52 billion, 18 arrested so far

2nd October 2023 – (Hong Kong) The unlicensed JPEX operation has garnered significant attention, with 2,467 victims coming forward to report their losses as of 5pm today. The monetary value involved in this case amounts to approximately HK$1.52 billion. Authorities have confirmed that a total of 18 individuals have been arrested in connection with the investigation.

Among the arrested individuals are two key members of the operation who were apprehended last Thursday in Macao. They were subsequently deported on Saturday and upon their return to Hong Kong, local law enforcement officials detained them at the Hong Kong-Macao Ferry Terminal in Central. The two arrested individuals have been granted bail and are required to report in later this month for further investigation.
