3rd October 2026 – (Macao) A mainland Chinese man who allegedly shattered the glass entrance of the Apple store at The Londoner Macao’s Shoppes at Londoner on 27th September fled across the border but was intercepted today when he re‑entered via Qingmao Port. Police identified the suspect as Mr Wang, 48, an unemployed mainland resident. Investigators said there is no record of psychiatric treatment and no indication he had queued to buy a new product, with the motive still being probed. Preliminary enquiries found he picked up an iron bar from a recycling point in the Northern District and later a brick near the Taipa racecourse before carrying out the damage. The incident caused an estimated loss of about MOP300,000 to the shop. Authorities have filed an aggravated criminal damage case and referred it to the Public Prosecutions Office for follow‑up.
