26th February 2022 – (Kyiv) Kira Rudik, a Ukrainian politician and current leader of the political party Voice and since 2019 a member of the Ukrainian parliament a member of Ukraine’s parliament posted a picture of herself holding an assault rifle on her Twitter account early this morning and said that it sounds surreal as just a few days ago she thought the invasion would never happen. She said the women in Ukraine will protect the country same way as our men. The post has since garnered more than 90,000 likes.
She said that her family and herself are now hiding in a bomb shelter as heavy fighting intensifies, with explosions heard and seen in the city in the early hours of Saturday.
