15th May 2023 – (Hong Kong) Action to the Word, the award-winning U.K. theatre company, is set to present their new production of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy, Romeo & Juliet, in Hong Kong this November. The U.K. cast will bring this hard-hitting tale of lost misfits and their painful family feud to life in a contemporary setting, featuring powerful live music. With an innovative and accessible approach, the production offers a gateway to the true story of the world’s most famous lovers, simultaneously ripping and delighting the heart.
Directed by Alex Spencer-Jones, who has previously directed acclaimed productions such as A Clockwork Orange and Dracula, and is the winner of the Musical Theatre Matters: U.K. Award for Best Director. Spencer-Jones brings his unique vision and expertise to this production, promising an unforgettable experience for audiences in Hong Kong.
The performances will be held at the Rita Tong Liu Drama Theatre in The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in Wan Chai. Ticket prices range from HK$688 to HK$388 for adults, with discounts available for full-time students with valid ID, senior citizens aged 60+, and the disabled.
