22nd June 2024 – (Hong Kong) During a road accident that occurred today at 2.58am, a Towngas van and a dump truck collided on Wong Chu Road, heading towards Tuen Mun Highway. Reports indicate that two individuals were initially trapped inside the Towngas van. However, thanks to swift rescue operations, both the driver and passenger have since been freed and are reported to be in a stable condition.

Disturbing images circulating online reveal the forceful impact of the collision, with the Towngas van crashing into the rear of the dump truck, resulting in severe deformation of the van’s front end. The trapped individuals were found within the confines of the van during the aftermath of the accident. Notably, the Towngas van displayed the emblem of the gas company on its body.

As a consequence of this traffic incident, the Transport Department has closed off a section of Wong Chu Road, specifically the lanes near Hai Wong Road, in the direction of Tuen Mun Highway. Motorists are advised to utilise the remaining lanes for their travel, as the affected area is currently experiencing heavy congestion.
