3rd October 2026 – (Hong Kong) A theft was reported at the Ching Tao Court market in Ching Ho Estate, Sheung Shui, after closing time, with social media posts today alleging two intruders struck at about 10.10pm last night. The poster appealed for the culprits to surrender and asked anyone recognising the pair to make contact, saying the matter could be handled leniently.

CCTV video shared online shows one suspect in a red top and an accomplice in black acting as lookout as they arrived with a bicycle, appearing at first glance to be ordinary residents. With the market shut and the aisles deserted, the man in red was seen entering several fruit and vegetable stalls, rummaging through polystyrene crates and selecting produce. During the raid he unplugged a mobile phone that had been left on charge, then packed bananas, dragon fruit, garlic and ginger into four large bags. The pair were filmed dividing the haul on the spot before departing with their goods.
