Suspicious letters containing rotten meat sent to two respective judges in High Court and Wan Chai District Court, EOD officers deployed

23rd November 2021 – (Hong Kong) At about 2pm this afternoon (23rd), the Admiralty High Court Building received suspicious letters, and the staff immediately notified the police to investigate. At about 4pm today, the Wan Chai District Court also received suspicious letters. It is reported that several staff evacuated themselves.

The police rushed to the report and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau (EOD) was also deployed to investigate. No injuries have been reported. According to sources, the recipients of the four letters were  Judge Johnny Chan Jongherng, deputy judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court, and Clement Lee, a District Court judge.

According to sources, the two suspicious letters contained rotten meat.
