17th September 2020 – (Hong Kong) At about 8pm yesterday, the police received a report from a man stating that his male friend (22 years old) was suspected to have committed suicide in a room l located at Regal Riverside Hotel, 34-36, between 34 and Tai Chung Kiu Road, Sha Tin. The police rushed to the hotel and found the victim lying in the room with a plate of burnt charcoal next to it. He was sent to the Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment and later regained consciousness. The police found the suicide note at the scene, and preliminary investigation believed that the incident was not suspicious. It is understood that he has been emotionally disturbed recently.
Meanwhile, at 9pm last night, a woman (50) reported to police that her son committed suicide at their home at Sui Yeung House, 19 Tsui Ping Road. Police officers rushed to investigate and found that the victim was lying on a bed with a plate of burnt charcoal next to him. After inspection by paramedics, he was certified deceased. The police seized the suicide note at the scene. Initial investigations believed that the incident was not suspicious. The cause of death has yet to be determined after an autopsy.
