7th February 2023 – (Hong Kong) During the anti-extradition protest in November 2019, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) was occupied by a large number of demonstrators who had fierce conflicts with the police. There were also many clashes in the surrounding area of PolyU. Among them, 10 men were accused of participating in an illegal assembly near the Science Museum Square in Tsim Sha Tsui. They denied the crime of illegal assembly.
After trial, only 2 of them were convicted last month. They were sentenced today, and the two defendants aged 20 and 25 years old were sentenced to 5 months in prison respectively.
