Two groups of people engage in violent clash with one another during public screening of video footage of police brutality in Yuen Long

16th July 2019 – (Hong Kong) At around 8pm today, several residents organised a public screening of police brutality video clips recorded during the recent clashes between police and protestors at Fung Yau Street North Sitting-out Area in Yuen Long.

The screening provoked another group of people who then obstructed other residents from watching. Moments later, both parties started to engage in physical brawl. Residents started to film the ordeal as both parties exchanged blows with one another. Both parties were in a stand off while vulgar words were being sworn.

Police with shields subsequently arrived at around 9pm and they manage to segregate both parties before most people started to leave the scene.
