30th January 2023 – (Hong Kong) At 5.32am today, a resident of Block 3 in Lei Muk Shue Estate reported to the police that they saw two men igniting debris with a lighter in front of a unit before running away. When firefighters and police officers arrived at the scene, the fire had been extinguished by the neighbours themselves. A pillow and the curtain inside the unit were burned. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The officers finally intercepted two 14-year-old boys at a basketball court in the estate, and seized a lighter from one of them, suspected to be related to the case. After investigation, it is believed that the boys involved in the case had an argument with a 13-year-old male classmate earlier because of attitude issues. The boys then went to the other’s apartment to commit the crime. The two were arrested for “arson” and have now been detained for investigation.
