2nd September 2026 – (Hong Kong) A seven‑year‑old boy was struck by a private car in Tsuen Wan on the first day of term after running into the carriageway, according to footage shared online. The dashcam video, lasting about 25 seconds, appears to show a car travelling along Sai Lau Kok Road towards Mega Trade Centre when the child dashes across the road. The driver brakes but clips the boy with the left rear of the vehicle, sending him to the ground and dislodging his mobile phone. The boy quickly stands up as a woman, believed to be a domestic worker, approaches to comfort him and pick up the phone.
Another woman and a second boy are seen at the roadside, with the group later standing together while the adult checks the child for injuries. The car remains stopped in the lane, and the driver appears to step out to assess the situation before the clip ends. The incident reportedly occurred at about 6.10pm on 1st September near the Tsuen Wan Government Offices, close to MTR Tsuen Wan Station.
Police said a male driver of a private car reported at 6.20pm that his vehicle had struck a seven‑year‑old boy on Sai Lau Kok Road near the MTR station. The child refused to be taken to hospital, and the matter was recorded as a traffic accident with no injuries.
