Field reports from Iranian outlets cited explosions across multiple locations, including Asaluyeh, Jiroft, Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island, Konarak, Chabahar, Jask, Sirik and Lavan, while Iranian authorities announced responses against US assets in the region and warned of further costs for any additional US action. In parallel, Jordan and Kuwait reported air‑defence activity against hostile drones. Iran’s maritime authority also moved to expand a blacklist of vessels barred from the Strait of Hormuz over alleged rule violations, cautioning that ships assisting blacklisted vessels risk similar treatment. At the White House, Trump dismissed a question about whether he intended to rename the Strait of Hormuz after himself, saying the idea had merely been “thrown out there,” after he had earlier floated the notion on social media and suggested at a rally that the waterway should be declared US territory. He also recently drew attention for an executive order he said renamed Lake Ontario “Lake America” amid tensions with Canada over tariffs. The remarks came as he warned that any Iranian retaliation would be met with a stronger US response, while Iranian officials vowed firmness following the reported civilian casualties in Sirik.
