11th June 2021 – (Hong Kong) According to Hong Kong Observatory, the area of low pressure over the central part of the South China Sea is bringing unsettled weather to the region. According to the present forecast, this area of low pressure will move gradually in the general direction of Hainan Island to Beibu Wan in the next couple of days and intensify. Locally, it will become windier with occasional showers and squally.
The weather is mainly cloudy with a few showers. Sunny intervals in the afternoon. There are fresh east to southeasterly winds, occasionally strong offshore and on high ground with swells and more showers tonight.
Meanwhile, the Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau said that the low-pressure over the central part of the South China Sea is developing and moving towards Hainan. It may develop into a tropical cyclone today and tomorrow. The Tropical Cyclone Signal may be issued if necessary. Under the influence of its circulation, winds in Macao will intensify later today. There will be strong winds of force 6 wind level and frequent showers. Meanwhile, due to the astronomical high tide in the following days, slight flooding is expected in the Inner Harbour area.
