Trial for 4 students charged for hurling objects on railway tracks during 2019 to commence in December


23rd June 2022 – (Hong Kong) On 12th November, 2019, there were demonstrations and clashes in many places in Hong Kong. Some rioters in Fanling threw iron sticks, bicycles, railings and other sundries on the railway tracks. Four male students were charged with endangering the safety of railway passengers. The case appeared for review at the Fanling Magistrates’ Court today (23rd) before trial. The prosecution is expected to call about 10 witnesses to testify, while the defence has no other witnesses except the defendants. The case has been set to start trial on 14th December, with a trial period of 8 days.

The four defendants will continue to be released on bail with the original conditions.
