1st September 2026 – (Hong Kong) The Transport Department announced at 9.43pm that tram services were suspended in both directions between MTR Admiralty Station and Tonnochy Road due to a power failure. Eastbound services from Admiralty to Tonnochy Road and westbound services from Tonnochy Road to Admiralty were halted after the tram operator reported an electrical fault.
It marks the second consecutive day of tram power disruptions. On 31st August at 8.05pm, the department advised that westbound services between North Point Terminus and Tin Lok Lane on the Happy Valley loop were suspended following a separate electrical issue. Engineering staff carried out repair work in Causeway Bay.
