Train service at MTR Fanling Station after a 79-year-old woman falls from platform onto track (Updated)

26th January 2023 – (Hong Kong) At 11.33pm yesterday a 79-year-old woman jumped from the platform of MTR Fanling Station towards Sheung Shui. Firefighters are rushing to the scene to rescue the victim. The unconscious woman was then sent to the hospital. The MTR said that due to a person entering the track near Fanling Station, the train service between Tai Wo and Sheung Shui Station on the East Rail Line is currently suspended. MTR arranged for shuttle buses from Tai Po Market to Sheung Shui Station to pick up the affected passengers.

The service was subsequently restored at 12.10am.
