10th October 2022 – (Hong Kong) M+, Asia’s first global museum of contemporary visual culture in the West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong, announces that tickets for the museum’s first Special Exhibition, Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now with HSBC as Lead Sponsor, and General Admission will be available for online purchase from 10am on Thursday, 13th October 2022 on M+ website, West Kowloon Cultural District website, West Kowloon Cultural District App, Cityline, China Travel Service (Hong Kong) Limited, Fliggy and Klook.
Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now opens on M+’s first anniversary on Saturday, 12th November 2022 and will be on view through Sunday, 14th May 2023. Tickets for the period from November to January will be available for purchase from 13th October 2022. Tickets to Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now, which allow visitors access to all M+ galleries, are priced at HK$240 for adults and HK$150 for concessions.
Starting from 12th November 2022, visitors are required to purchase tickets in advance to access M+ exhibitions. General Admission tickets are priced at HK$120 for adults and HK$60 for visitors eligible for concessions. Admission to B1 level and Pumpkin (2022) and Hong Kong: Here and Beyond on the ground floor of the museum, respectively, will be free of charge.

Public programmes accompanying Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now
M+ launches a series of public programmes to accompany Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now, including talks, workshops, and drop-in activities, giving new perspectives for visitors of all ages to dive deeper into Yayoi Kusama’s art practice and works. - Talk
On the first day of public opening of Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now, 12th November 2022, M+ will present a talk titled Yayoi Kusama: Beyond the Polka Dot at the Grand Stair, M+, featuring the co-curators of the exhibition, Doryun Chong, Deputy Director, Curatorial and Chief Curator, M+, and Mika Yoshitake, independent curator. They dive deeper into the exhibition and examine Kusama’s creative practice and vision.
- M+ Family Day sponsored by HSBC
M+ Family Day is held on Sundays during the second half of each month. Two ticketed Family Day Art Workshops, including Sensory Party in Kusama’s Wonderland which will invite participants to dress themselves in unique headwear and enjoy pattern-making activities using luminous paint, and Kusama’s Cosmic Portrait which will encourage families to create their own cyanotype prints with botanical objects. Free drop-in events will be available on Sundays during the second half of each month, including Family Day Drop-in: Kusama in Imagination Playground which will explore free play with light and shadow to form a glowing net while Family Pop-up: Book Play will offer a selection of picture books related to Kusama and themes in her works.

These will include Kusama Style Expressive Tattoo Design which invites participants to design their unique tattoo to narrate their stories and learn about Kusama’s uncompromising vision towards life.
