30th August 2019 – (Hong Kong) Au Nok-hin, a pro-democracy politician was arrested at 10pm in Kwun Tong today for assaulting and obstructing police officer on 7th July while Dr. Cheng Chung-tai another activist was arrested at 4pm today in Tin Shui Wai for conspiring to cause criminal damage at Legislative Council building on 1st July. Our latest resources revealed that Jeremy Tam, Vice-Chairman of the Hong Kong Civic Party was also arrested from his home before being sent to Tsuen Wan Police Station this evening.
Police conducted multiple arrests of political activists in the last 30 hours.
Meanwhile, around 200 professionals and staff from the veterinary industry gathered at Chater Garden in Central this evening to protest against police brutality and they also demanded protection of animal rights. Police were spotted deploying tear gas in the presence of police dogs without masks. on multiple occasions. They claimed that there were also animals who were shot by rubber bullets and sent to veterinarian. Simultaneously, another 300-400 Christians gathered at Statue Square nearby to sing hymns.
At 10.30pm today, over 100 people gathered at Tin Chung Court, Tin Shui Wai to join a sit in protest.
