Three injured as “P-plate” car collides with two taxis in Mong Kok, woman trapped between car and iron fence suffers severe injuries

5th June 2023 – (Hong Kong) At around 2am today, a taxi was driving along Nathan Road in Mong Kok towards Sham Shui Po when a car with a “P” licence plate suddenly appeared on Mong Kok Road and collided with the taxi at the intersection. The taxi lost control and travelled about 10 meters before hitting a woman named Ms. Fung on the sidewalk opposite the Commercial and Industrial Bank on Nathan Road. Witnesses called for help and rescue personnel responded to the scene.

The car that collided with the taxi then crashed into another car on the road. The rescuers immediately provided first aid to Ms. Fung, who lost consciousness due to the impact. She regained consciousness later, but suffered multiple injuries to her legs and body and was urgently transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. The taxi driver, Mr. Tam (62 years old), reported neck pain, and a female passenger in the taxi was also slightly injured but refused to be taken to the hospital after receiving on-site first aid. The drivers of the other two vehicles, Mr. Yiu (28 years old) and Mr. Wong (67 years old), were present at the scene and assisted with the investigation.
