14th March 2019 – (Hong Kong) More than 1 billion users of Instagram went into panic mode when they realised that their most popular platform was down. A lot of them even posted on their twitter account to vent their frustrations and anger including Facebook who had to use its rival Twitter platform to explain to users that their social media apps were down.
According to many screenshots shared on Twitter, some people received error messages when they attempted to post or received a notification saying that the app will auto-post their photos once the app is back up.
Bloggers and businesses who rely on the social media app to promote themselves succumbed to mass hysteria as they never expected a massive breakdown that lasted many hours.
Many disgruntled users tweeted over the ramifications of the glitch with memes poking fun at the different stages of panic.
