14th August 2023 – (Shanghai) Tesla Inc. has recently announced a price reduction for its Model Y long-range and performance versions in China, effective from August 14. The company shared this information in a notice published on Monday.
In a bid to stay competitive, Tesla has slashed the prices of its higher-end Model Y vehicles by 14,000 yuan ($1,900) as part of an ongoing price war. The adjustments were made to the Model Y Long-Range and Performance variants, which are highly popular models alongside the Model 3 in Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s vehicle lineup.
The new prices for the Model Y in China are now set at 299,900 yuan for the Long-Range version and 349,900 yuan for the Performance version, according to Tesla’s announcement on Weibo, a popular social media platform in China.
