4th March 2023 – (Austin) According to a public filing made on Saturday, Tesla Inc has announced a recall of 3,470 Model Y vehicles in the United States. The recall includes Model Y vehicles manufactured from 2022 through 2023. The reason for the recall is that bolts securing the second-row seatback frames may not have been securely tightened, which could result in reduced seat belt system performance and increase the risk of injury during a crash, as per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Tesla has informed the NHTSA that it has received five warranty claims since December that may be related to the issue described above. However, Tesla has not been made aware of any injuries or deaths resulting from the recall issue.
