Temporary passenger clearance building at Huanggang Port to be opened on 6th February, cross-border bus services to resume

2nd February 2023 – (Hong Kong) According to sources, the Lo Wu Control Point and Huanggang Port will reopen on 6th February at the earliest, and the quota and negative nucleic acid test requirements will be cancelled. However, Huanggang Port is currently being rebuilt, it is questionable how the port will be opened in time. Sources confirmed that the temporary passenger clearance building, which will be completed in 2020, will be used at that time. It’s located at the loading area of trucks in the original port building. The designed passenger clearance capacity is 30,000 passengers and 3,000 passenger vehicles per day.

The Transport Department said that the operator is ready to resume the cross-border bus services when the Huanggang Port resumes the passenger clearance service but overnight services will not be provided during the initial stage.
