Temperature in northern New Territories may fall to as low as 9 degrees Celsius next Friday

24th November 2022 – (Hong Kong) According to Hong Kong Observatory, a broad band of clouds will cover Guangdong in the next couple of days. Winds will be weak over the coast of Guangdong early next week, and it will be rather warm during the day. Under the influence of an intense northeast monsoon, it will become cool appreciably over southern China in the middle and latter parts of next week.  Temperatures will range between 22 and 25 degrees tomorrow.  It will become cool appreciably in the middle and latter parts of next week.

There will be rain for three consecutive days starting next Wednesday (30th), and the temperature will drop to a minimum of 17 degrees Celsius, and next Friday it will drop as low as 14 degrees Celsius. According to the Observatory’s Hong Kong regional temperature forecast, the temperature in many districts will drop below 15 degrees Celsius next Friday, and Ta Kwu Ling will only be 12 degrees Celsius. In Shek Kong, Lau Fau Shan, Sheung Shui, Tai Po and other areas in the New Territories, the temperature will only 13 degrees Celsius. The cold weather will last for five consecutive days until 4th December. The minimum temperature in the urban area is expected to rise to around 17 degrees Celsius.

The European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) predicts that the temperature will be colder in the same period. It is expected that the general temperature in the New Territories will drop to 10-12 degrees Celsius next Friday morning. Meanwhile, the temperature in northern New Territories may fall to single digits, as low as 9 degrees Celsius.
