Tear gas rounds fired at protesters in Tin Shui Wai while 4 arrested

5th August 2019 – (Hong Kong) A female protester’s pants and undies were pulled off by Riot Police during arrest outside Tin Shui Wai Police Station yesterday. Representatives from Association Concerning Sexual Violence Against Women condemned the incident and they submitted a letter to Tin Shui Wai Police Station to demand an explanation from police.

There were also hundreds of protesters who were present to show solidarity. Police fired several rounds of tear gas at protesters before arresting four of them. At 3.44pm, police raised orange flag warning the protesters to disperse. As a result of the clash, several MTR Light Rail trains including 705, 706, 761P were diverted. Free Shuttle bus service was also arranged.
