Suspension of cross-border high-speed rail ticket sales from 11th October until further notice

27th September 2023 – (Hong Kong) In response to the nationwide adjustment of high-speed rail schedules, MTR Corporation announced today (27th) that it has received notification from the Mainland railway authorities to suspend the pre-sale of cross-border train tickets between Hong Kong West Kowloon Station and the Mainland from 11th October onwards until further notice. MTR Corporation will maintain close communication with the Mainland railway authorities and promptly disseminate ticketing information through various channels once further updates are available, allowing passengers to plan and arrange their journeys accordingly.

MTR has already strengthened the dissemination of information at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station to notify passengers about the arrangements. Passengers are also advised to stay informed of the latest updates through the official “12306” website or mobile application, as well as the high-speed railway webpage and mobile application.

Meanwhile, in order to facilitate passengers’ travel during the upcoming long weekend for the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays, MTR will enhance train services as follows:

Mid-Autumn Festival (29th September):

  • All rail lines (except the Airport Express and Disneyland Resort Line) will enhance service from 3pm.
  • All rail lines (except the Airport Express, Disneyland Resort Line, and journeys to or from Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations on the East Rail Line) and 7 Light Rail routes will operate overnight.

National Day Holidays (30th September to 2nd October):

  • 7 rail lines will run more frequent train trips during different periods.

As the MTR Corporation adjusts its operations to accommodate the changes in high-speed rail schedules, passengers are advised to stay updated on the latest information and make necessary adjustments to their travel plans.
