24th March 2023 – (Hong Kong) Last night (23rd), at around 11pm, a passerby discovered a man lying on the ground at the intersection of Chung On Street and Sha Tsui Road in Kwun Tong, with a bleeding hand injury. The man appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, prompting the passerby to report the incident to the police.
Upon arriving at the scene, paramedics found the man’s injuries to be suspicious and proceeded to wrap his wounds before transporting him to the hospital. Investigators reviewing nearby building surveillance footage from CCTV cameras believe that the man collapsed due to alcohol intoxication and was subsequently hit by a taxi, causing the injury to his arm. The taxi driver then fled the scene.
Authorities are now tracing the whereabouts and identity of the suspected hit-and-run taxi driver and have not ruled out the possibility of making an arrest. The police are urging anyone with relevant information about the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
