20th January 2023 – (Hong Kong) A man (57 years old) from Nga Lam House, Tsui Lam Estate, Tseung Kwan O, was attacked with a sharp knife in the corridor outside his residence when he was returning home at 5pm yesterday afternoon. He sustained head and shoulder injuries while the assailant managed to escape. After follow-up, the officers identified the suspect as the victim’s neighbour who lives on the same floor. They broke into the suspect’s apartment and searched, and seized a knife about 12 inches long.
At about 5pm today, police arrested an elderly man (76 years old) on suspicion of attempting to injure others. It is reported that the victim and the suspect have no grievances. The suspect lives with his family, but he likes to go out alone. The motive for the crime remains to be further investigated.
